  ABOUT KATOSI WOMEN DEVELOPMENT TRUST (KWDT)

 

Katosi Women Development Trust (KWDT) is a non governmental organization with an aim of improving the general living standards of poor, rural peasant communities of Ntenjeru and Nakisunga sub counties in Mukono District. Evolving out of the success of Katosi Women Fishing & Development Association, KWDT currently networks 11 women groups. The 10 years of existence have enabled KWDT reach out to communities through disadvantaged women.

 

KWDT is registered with the Uganda NGO Board Reg. no. S.5914/6911, with the District as a Women’s development Organization Reg. No. WG/2004/22/00793 and with National Association of Women Organizations in Uganda with Reg. No. 32 /01/ A. With a coordination office in Kampala and a field office at Katosi landing site, KWDT brings together 263 women in 11 groups including;

5.  Kisakye Women’s Group

6.  Kalengera Women’s Group

7.  Kulubbi Women’s Group

9.  Twekembe Women’s Group

10. Bulonda Women’s group

11. Bugolombe Women’s Group

 

 

  VISION

Living conditions in Ntenjeru and Nakisunga sub-counties improved through efforts of poor, rural peasant women of KWDT.

 

  MISSION

Poor, Rural peasant women of KWDT able to initiate and manage their economic, social and political development processes.

 

  AREA OF OPERATION:

KWDT geographically covers 2 sub-counties of Nakisunga and Ntenjeru in Mukono District; with head offices at Katosi Landing site- Bunakijja Road along Lake Victoria and coordination office on Plot 27 Martin Road, Mabirizi towers, Old Kampala.
